Columbus Metro Parks

Metro Parks offer one-week camps for children in preschool through grade 9.  Camps are based on the grade completed as of June 2012, NOT the grade they will be entering in the fall. Camps are located in 6 different Metro Parks: Battelle Darby Creek, Blacklick Woods, Blendon Woods, Highbanks, Sharon Woods and Slate Run. Cost varies with the type of camp: $70 – $140. Women in Engineering Summer Camp for High School Girls

A residential summer camp which will be held July 8-13, 2012.  This unique camp introduces high school girls to career opportunities in engineering through participation in classroom activities as well as observation and interaction with practicing engineers and engineering students.  Activities include three days of experiments in engineering taught by University faculty, dinner with an engineer, and a day with industry.  Participants reside in an air-conditioned dormitory located on the beautiful University of Dayton campus.   For more information or to register:  go.udayton.edu/wie.

Notes: Summer Fields is a for-credit residential summer program for high-achieving rising high school juniors and seniors. It is a hands-on immersion into the liberal arts and sciences for students who seek to engage in their studies and apply their intellect and passion out in the world. For three weeks, students pursue rigorous academic study around one theme while living on campus with other high school students in the program. The 2012 program runs July 8 – July 27. Students earn 4 semester hours of college credit.
