Columbus Metro Parks
Metro Parks offer one-week camps for children in preschool through grade 9. (Camps are based on the grade completed as of June 2013, NOT the grade they will be entering in the fall.) Camps are located in 6 different Metro Parks: Battelle Darby Creek, Blacklick Woods, Blendon Woods, Highbanks, Sharon Woods and Slate Run. Cost varies with the type of camp: $70 – $140. Scholarships available to those who qualify. Camp Registration begins March 21 at 8:00 am. University of Dayton Women in Engineering Summer Camp for High School Girls
A residential summer camp which will be held July 7-12, 2013. This unique camp introduces high school girls to career opportunities in engineering through participation in classroom activities as well as observation and interaction with practicing engineers and engineering students. Activities include three days of experiments in engineering taught by University faculty, dinner with an engineer, and a day with industry. Notes: PAINTBALL CAMP – It’s not just a camp…. It’s an adventure! PVM was the first camp in the US to offer weeklong paintball camp. With close to 14 years of paintball camps, our instructors will teach campers how to work as a unit in developing tactical game strategies, stealth techniques, and mission leadership skills. It will also focus on the importance of character, honor, and integrity. Throughout the week players will participate in different paintball scenarios on the wooded course and on our fast-paced speedball field. Subject/Content: Nine-day paintball program with a trip to the Michigan Monster Game
Notes: Nine days of intense paintball that you won’t get anywhere else. Campers will spend the first week going through extreme paintball training to prepare for the paintball event of a lifetime. At the end of the training they will play in the Michigan Monster Game, a two-day paintball game that will have over 2000 other players, paintball tanks, mercenary squads, and airplane insertion tactics on a 180-acre paintball field. Campers will return on Monday, July 26th and may be picked up following a brief closing program at 7:00 PM that evening.
